Operating System: Windows 10+, Video Graphics Card: Nvidia
How to Check Your Video Card Model and Memory:
- Open the Windows search bar and type "Task Manager".
- In Task Manager, go to the "Performance" tab.
- Look for "GPU" or "Graphics Processor" in the left-hand menu.
- On the Top-Right you can see Video Card Model.
- Under the "Dedicated GPU Memory" section, you will see the amount of memory. In the example, the GPU model is displayed with 16 GB of Dedicated GPU memory.
The program can be launched, but AMD video cards are not supported. As a result, the load will be redirected to the CPU, and generating a single image will take approximately 5 minutes — which is very slow and not recommended. In this case, you can use the RunPod service (described below).
Yes, it is possible. For Mac, there is a written installation guide provided in the course. Based on the experience of students, Macs with M1/M2 chips offer fairly fast generation. However, Intel GPUs pose challenges — they are generally unsupported, and generating a single image may take around 2–5 minutes, which is quite slow. In such cases, you can use the RunPod service (described below).
For GPUs with 8-12+ GB of memory, certain types of training can be run locally. For GPUs with 2-6 GB of memory, the same tasks can be performed online. Online AI training does not depend on your computer's specifications.
Yes! AI can be trained in any style. The style depends on the images you use to train the neural network. In the course, I demonstrate an example with cartoon graphics, but the entire process is the same for any style.
What if I don't have a suitable video graphics card?
No problem! That's exactly why we added a module to the course explaining how to use RunPod 🔥
- What is RunPod?RunPod — is an online service for renting GPUs, enabling you to work with Stable Diffusion in the cloud. This means you don't need a powerful graphics card on your computer — everything is done online.
- Convenience
- Speed: Image generation takes just 2-3 seconds.
- Cost Savings: Some game development studios use RunPod to avoid significant expenses on purchasing and maintaining expensive equipment required for advanced neural networks, as all the necessary infrastructure is already available through the service.
- Security and Confidentiality: RunPod provides a secure environment for data processing, which is particularly important for artists working on commercial projects or projects requiring confidentiality (NDA).
- Service PaymentRunPod accepts international payments and cryptocurrency.
